Senior Manager overseeing sourcing and deployment of climate solutions for philanthropy at India Climate Collaborative. Collaborating with stakeholders to build effective climate action pathways in India.
Responsibilities
Create climate solutions sourcing and evaluation strategies for priority themes (based on intelligence and mapping- both internal and external)
Build a strong pipeline of solutions capable of absorbing different types of capital
Forge pathways for scale through partnerships and capacity-building of partners
Steer strategic engagement by aligning supply (solutions) with demand (India’s INDCs & funder priorities).
Build and sustain high-trust relationships with CSOs, think tanks, technical experts, and ecosystem partners
Build, drive, and periodically update ICC’s sourcing and solutions strategy, as well as action plan aligned with the overall ICC strategy (vision, mission and goals)
Translate ICC’s strategic priorities into thematic pipelines of fundable opportunities, ensuring they are credible, vetted, scalable, and ecosystem aligned.
Identify different channels/pathways for sourcing climate solutions
Establish robust frameworks for solution evaluation, due diligence, and funder readiness
Work collaboratively with other team members, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
Build and manage a dynamic portfolio of climate solutions (CSOs, NGOs, think tanks, coalitions, other actors) across India.
Surface institutions/programs/initiatives focusing on mitigation/energy space where philanthropy can play a catalytic role
Engage sector experts to improve quality of climate solutions.
Support partners for co-creating climate solutions with technical support and capacity-building to make them funding-ready.
Maintain a repository of vetted solutions through Solutions bank - mapped to ICC’s thematic priorities and funder interests.
Design and implement innovative formats to showcase climate solutions, making them accessible and compelling for philanthropy and other stakeholders
Work closely with philanthropy team to align their priorities with ICC’s curated pipelines.
Develop solution portfolios and pitches tailored for different funder segments, supporting deployment for climate action
Support in identifying models and innovative pathways to unlock wider pools of finance and attract co-funding opportunities.
Work closely with the philanthropy team to get inputs on donor engagement strategies, funding flows and showcase solutions effectively for conversion.
Work with Design & Catalyse team to identify critical areas that need funding, identify underfunded pathways, and identify levers for system level programmes on climate
Collaborate with Intelligence to understand climate trends, mapping opportunities to inform and refine sourcing strategies.
Represent ICC at sectoral convenings, roundtables, and forums to highlight ICC’s climate solutions pipeline.
Identify institutions/partners to explore partnerships/coalitions focusing on priority themes with clear strategies for execution and innovative funding models
Requirements
8–12 years of experience in climate action, development, or philanthropy, with at least 5 years in managerial roles.
Master’s degree in climate/environmental studies, public policy, international development, or a related field preferred.
Experience working in Mitigation/Energy policy space would be an added advantage
Strong understanding of India’s climate ecosystem, including policy, philanthropy, and CSR.
Proven track record in sourcing, evaluating, or implementing climate/development projects.
Strategic thinker with the ability to design frameworks, build processes, and deliver outcomes under tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills; ability to represent ICC externally with credibility.
Comfortable working in a dynamic, start-up environment with cross-functional collaboration.
Strong interpersonal skills, and experience in partnership management
Comfortable working with minimum supervision, and capable of building strategies
A demonstrated record of effective communication (both written and verbal)
Ability to manage competing deadlines, process information from multiple sources, and compile and articulate in a presentable manner
Be a self-starter, flexible and comfortable in the grey to fill gaps in the organization, ready to support where required
At ease when confronted with tight deadlines
