About the role

  • Senior Data Analyst at Kami leading data analyses to drive decision-making and business growth. Mentoring junior analysts and collaborating with stakeholders for educational insights.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects in the analysis of data from various sources, such as app usage, user feedback and external data sources, to identify trends and patterns in student learning and product usage, to monitor performance for company goals and to identify opportunities for business growth.
  • Lead projects to design, prototype and develop clear and informative reports for educators to help them gain comprehensive insight into their and their students’ performance, progress and challenges.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, such as educators, to understand requirements for and solicit feedback on analytics produced for them.
  • Investigate and develop data models based on transformations of raw data to be building blocks that enable educational and business insights.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior data analysts and data scientists, assisting them in their professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with teams across the company to understand business needs, translate them into data analytics projects and present informative results and insights to them.
  • Work closely with data engineers to inform and contribute to the design of data infrastructure, tools, pipelines and integrations.
  • Drive the implementation and advancement of best practices and coding standards for data analytics processes and workflows.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools and frameworks to enhance the company’s data analytics capabilities.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, advances and best practices in data analytics and recommend their adoption where appropriate.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and at least seven years’ experience in a heavily quantitative discipline including programming experience
  • Extensive expertise in tools and techniques in statistics and data analytics
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, and in technical computing languages such as Python, Julia, R and/or Stata with libraries relevant to data analytics (e.g. dataframes)
  • Excellent command of using writing and data visualisation to present analytics findings with clarity and insight
  • Extensive expertise in data cleaning, manipulation and transformation methods
  • Ability to analyse complex problems and break them down into smaller components to facilitate defining clear specifications
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with teams across the business and distil project requirements from stakeholder requests
  • Strategic thinking and ability to contribute to the long-term data vision of the business.
