About the role
- Cost Analyst in charge of analyzing and controlling production costs for a major plastic solutions company, ensuring accuracy in ERP and delivering strategic cost-reduction recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Determine, analyze and control direct and indirect production costs
- Analyze actual vs. standard cost variances and prepare margin reports
- Perform monthly closing routines for the company's financial results
- Conduct detailed and strategic analyses to identify cost‑reduction opportunities and process optimization
- Prepare cost statements, management reports and results presentations for the Executive Board
- Ensure efficiency and accuracy of records in the ERP system
- Implement improvements to departmental processes, as well as to cost recording and control
- Create detailed reports using data analysis tools such as Excel and Power BI
- Participate in annual inventory processes
- Perform cost reconciliations
- Prepare management reports and industrial cost performance indicators (KPIs)
- Support internal and external audit requests
- Contribute to the development, review and maintenance of policies, procedures and systems that support governance of cost processes
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering or related fields
- Postgraduate degree in Finance, Controllership or Accounting preferred
- Experience in industrial cost accounting (preferably in manufacturing companies)
- Knowledge of absorption costing, allocations and variance analysis
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, Power BI and SAP ERP
- Knowledge of accounting and tax legislation applicable to costs is a plus
- Intermediate to advanced English
- Analytical, proactive and strong interpersonal communication skills
- Flexibility to work in a hybrid arrangement in Lorena, São Paulo
