Senior Consultant conducting property tax valuation, appeals, assessments and client reporting for Ryan's Global 5000 clients in a hybrid Boston role.
Responsibilities
Identify property tax savings opportunities for clients and apply intermediate valuation techniques
Conduct research, analyze and interpret comparable assessment data, market data and sales transactions
Assist with assessment review and monitor the appeal process for client portfolios
Inspect properties and prepare reports as necessary
Analyze assessment notices and determine potential assessment reductions
Apply software knowledge to work efficiently with client data
Handle appeals and monitor appeals process; attend appeal hearings
Demonstrate knowledge of assessment review, appeal determination, tax bill administration and three valuation approaches (cost, sales comparison, income)
Build awareness of jurisdictional rules and filing requirements and understand assessment equalization methodology when applicable
Respond to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities and attend client status calls and meetings
Participate in recruiting efforts and create a positive team member experience
Reconcile databases and complete detailed calculations as part of analyses
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, Real Estate, Business Management, Public Administration, MIS/Entrepreneurship, International Business or other degree with MBA, MST or JD
Candidates with appropriate valuation designations preferred
One to three years audit or tax related experience
Desire to perform in a high-energy team environment
Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research
Valid driver’s license required
Applicants must have US work authorization that does not require sponsorship (no H1-B, F-1 OPT, TN or other non-immigrant visa)
Ability to travel approximately 25% to client site visits and appeal hearings
