About the role

  • Art Director at Church & Dwight managing visual direction for product launches and brand campaigns. Leading creative collaboration with marketing and production teams to deliver compelling visual assets.

Responsibilities

  • assist the Design Director and Creative director with visual direction for product launches, brand campaigns, and omni-channel creative
  • serve as the main creative partner to in-house production team
  • collaborate cross-functionally to bring brand stories to life, from early concepting through final asset delivery
  • lead art direction and design for select product launches, campaigns, and packaging refreshes across digital and print channels
  • develop original, compelling visual concepts that align with brand positioning and business goals
  • stay current on trends in photography, video, and social media to ensure content remains fresh and relevant
  • leverage skills in campaign strategy, layout, and typography to guide and inspire execution
  • contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by exploring AI tools and tech that improve creative efficiency
  • act as the creative point of contact for the in-house production team and agency partners
  • leading creative direction and overall vision for executing the photoshoot
  • build and manage shot lists, ensuring brand alignment and creative consistency
  • attend and lead on-set creative approvals during internal and select agency-led productions
  • oversee the creative production process from kickoff through final delivery
  • communicate updates to creative team stakeholders and gather feedback at key milestones
  • manage post-production planning including retouching, cropping, and asset delivery
  • initiate 3D visual asset workstreams as needed to support the photoshoot
  • partner with marketing, brand, and creative ops teams to ensure creative strategies meet business needs
  • foster a strong link between visual art direction and messaging, collaborating closely with copywriters to deliver compelling storytelling
  • create a culture of constructive feedback, helping the team refine work while remaining open to input from stakeholders
  • provide regular updates to the Design Director and Creative Director to ensure visibility into progress, resourcing, and quality

Requirements

  • 7-10+ years of experience in art direction, preferably in-house at a CPG company, agency setting, or working within categories such as beauty, health and well-being, fabric care and/or personal care
  • BFA/BA in graphic design, advertising, fine arts, or related field
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual development, production direction, and brand storytelling across channels working within a wide range of budgets
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma; familiarity with Frame.io and AI tools like Firefly or Midjourney is a plus
  • Knowledge of pre-production, on-set execution, and post-production including retouching, proofing, and final delivery standards
  • Brings a trusted network of creative partners (stylists, retouchers, editors, etc.) and proactively recommends the right talent for each project.
  • Strong communicator with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
