About the role
- Senior Analyst, Business Data Analysis at AIG, focusing on identifying business intelligence and data analysis needs, working collaboratively with teams.
Responsibilities
- Identify business intelligence, reporting, and data analysis needs for AIG.
- Work closely with Business and Technical teams to turn data into critical information and knowledge.
- Build an understanding of the business at a level of detail to identify and address critical issues.
- Work with clients to determine business requirements, priorities, define key performance indicators (KPI), and support defining ongoing BI & Data Warehouse strategy.
- Engage business and development teams to design and document data flows, mappings, and key business requirements.
- Provide project leadership including facilitating requirements gathering and presenting findings to all levels of management.
- Conduct analysis of functional business processes and functional business requirements and drive development of user stories as a member of an Agile Scrum Team.
- Educate and train clients to use data as an analytical tool, displaying the information as content for the purpose of analysis.
Requirements
- BA/BS Degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and progressive experience.
- 5+ Years Business Data Analyst Experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments.
- Ability to work independently with little to no direction.
- Strong critical thinking & problem-solving competency with the ability to trouble shoot and research complex data-oriented problems.
- Proactive and results driven with a positive can-do attitude.
- Excels in a team environment (distributed).
- Agile Business Analyst.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Commercial Insurance and Financial principles preferred.
- Proficient in Word, MS Excel and Visio.
- Technical experience with BI Tools and Python is a plus.
- Exposure to APIs and understanding of XML and JSON language preferred.
