About the role

  • Support key quantitative elements of the Risk Management Framework, to ensure strong risk management across all clients.
  • Manage a Risk Analyst dedicated to Risk Analytics and develop the quantitative risk skillset of more junior team members across the wider team.
  • Provide a direct link to the Asta Actuarial & Exposure management teams and other key stakeholders to support risk management and facilitate aspects of Internal Model governance.
  • Support the development and maintenance of quantitative elements of the framework liaising with the Head of Risk, Deputy CRO and Team.
  • Support on quarterly monitoring for Actuarial and Exposure Management (EM) related Risks and Appetites (as a business partner).
  • Support the development of quantitative risk appetite statements to ensure they respond to changing client risk profiles or regulatory requirements.
  • Support in the preparation of SBF risk assessments.
  • Support in the preparation of ORSA documentation, including the preparation of Stress & Scenario Testing (SST) and Reverse Stress Testing (RST), insurance risk and capital writeups.
  • Review Forward Looking Assessment (FLA) Capital projections.
  • Supporting the wider team on sensitivity testing.
  • Project manage the Validation processes, including those required for Internal Model Approval Processes (IMAPs), Major Model Change (MMC) submissions, and summer LCR submissions, working closely with the Deputy CRO who owns the overall process.
  • Lead the liaison with internal Actuaries & external Validators. Review aspects of Validation performed by the Actuarial department and external parties.
  • Work with EM on validation requirements for external models.
  • Undertake Operational Risk Validation.
  • Report progress to the Internal Model Technical Group (IMTG) and Internal Model Steering Committee (IMSC) as required.
  • Manage the production of the executive summary validation reports.
  • Manage the closure of Validation Actions in conjunction with the Actuarial team. Rectify any findings or actions identified for the Risk Team.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and written skills, expresses ideas effectively and listens actively.
  • Possesses the ability to understand and solve problems involving data and processes. The role holder does not need to be a qualified actuary, however a quantitative skillset with an Actuarial background, including knowledge of Capital Modelling, Solvency UK and stress & scenario testing is required.
  • Readily adapts to changing priorities and has the ability to work simultaneously on a variety of projects.
  • The ability to contribute to on-going development / improvements through original thinking, persuasive argument, and a considered approach.
  • Understanding of the activities/risks of a Lloyd’s syndicate
