About the role

  • Leading the provision of Home reserving analyses, including formal quarterly valuations and presentations
  • Input to pricing forums, business planning and financial forecasting processes
  • Leading the conduct and reporting of formal quarterly claims reserve reviews
  • Identifying areas for improvement and refinement of processes
  • Engaging effectively with auditors (internal and external), advisers, shareholders and service providers on claims reserving and other actuarial matters
  • Working with underwriting, pricing and claims teams, particularly in respect to providing insights on claims and reserving trends that are relevant for Pricing decisions

Requirements

  • Extensive experience within a similar actuarial role – ideally with some experience in home reserving
  • Knowledge of ResQ, latest developments and industry practice regarding modelling techniques
  • Strong communicator and relationship builder– able to effectively discuss with a variety of stakeholders, taking into account differences in knowledge, technical proficiency and expectations
  • Proven experience of being able to explain and justify the use of expert judgement at arriving at conclusions
