About the role

  • Lead and/or coordinate entire projects (internal/external) for assigned organizational unit(s)
  • Ensure cross-functional cooperation with Procurement, Logistics, R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Service and suppliers/customers
  • Lead cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve motor issues and develop technical solutions
  • Coordinate with engineering and refurbishment of motors and lead motor refurbishment/warranty efforts
  • Coordinate with manufacturing and service partners to minimize turnaround time and cost
  • Analyze motor failure causes and negotiate with customers to minimize financial exposure
  • Manage warranty cases and drive them to expeditious resolution at minimal cost
  • Implement project-specific management systems, documentation, regulations, methods and IT tools using a risk-based approach
  • Implement quality improvement methods and process performance management (e.g., 8D, RCA, PFMEA, A3, VSM, DIR)
  • Drive lessons learned across projects and improve project quality reporting
  • Contribute to project planning to ensure quality-relevant requirements are considered from the sales phase
  • Initiate training for project employees regarding quality methods and processes
  • Develop, control and ensure implementation of project quality plans and project-specific QM systems (review/test/validation)

Requirements

  • ENG degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Mechanical Engineering (ME)
  • At least 7 years of professional engineering/CS experience in an electric motor/generator environment
  • SAP QM, Norwood Motor Calculation Tools, NX, RuleStream, Nucleus, DIR system
  • Willingness to travel 25%
  • QM tools and ISO standards, CIP driven
  • Thorough understanding of Motors and Generators
  • Excellent communication skills
  • LEAN basics
  • Risk analysis and scenario technique skills
