About the role

  • Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for Institutional English assessments, aligned with Pearson’s strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with and lead cross-functional teams (test development, engineering, UX, Program, Customer services, Operations, other Pearson divisions) to deliver high-quality and scalable assessment products delivering reliable outcomes aligned to the Global Scale of English (GSE)
  • Own the full product lifecycle from ideation through development, launch, and continuous improvement.
  • Spearhead the development of and enhancements to test administration systems supporting registration and payment, delivery and results.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including academic experts, regulatory bodies, and commercial teams to ensure product relevance and compliance with the relevant international standards and frameworks.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to ensure assessments are delivered and supported with a high degree of quality and consistency whilst meeting applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Drive the development of a range of effective preparation resources for learners and teachers.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform product decisions.
  • Drive the establishment of best practices in product discovery and execution.
  • Represent Pearson at industry events, conferences, and with key partners as necessary.
  • Line manage and actively develop a team of product managers/specialists

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a leader in product management (5+ years)
  • Demonstrable success in the development and delivery of international assessments (preferably English)
  • Understanding of psychometrics, test design, and regulatory frameworks in language assessment preferred
  • Experience working with digital assessment platforms and AI-enabled testing solutions
  • Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong exponent of agile methodologies and product development best practices
  • Experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders is required, with a strong ability to connect, align, and resolve interdependencies between teams, systems, and outcomes
  • Ability to operate effectively in a global, matrixed organization
