About the role

  • Producer leading the delivery of VFX projects from concept to final delivery at Goodbye Kansas Studios. Focused on team collaboration and project management within the creative technology sector.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creative and technical execution of projects from inception through to final delivery.
  • Focus on high-level strategy and forecasting, including managing scope, schedule and budget.
  • Work with the Executive Producer, Supervisors, and creative leads to define the scope and production approach.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of project scope and ensure delivery remains on time and on budget.
  • Flag and lead discussions around course correction if creative vision, timeline, or budget diverge from the plan.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the client—establishing bids, milestones, and iteration workflows.
  • Ensure client feedback is clearly interpreted by the VFX Supervisor and communicated effectively to the team.
  • Manage change orders, scope adjustments and deadline updates in coordination with the Executive Producer.
  • Depending on the size of the project, either manage it yourself, or collaborate with the Production Manager and Planning team to schedule and crew each project effectively.
  • Work closely with Supervisors and Leads to manage workflow through all departments.
  • Oversee the execution of MOCAP shoots and delivery of weekly targets for temps and final assets.
  • Provide regular project updates to Heads of Production, Executive Producers, and Studio Management.
  • Communicate the financial health of the project to the Finance team and provide regular reports.
  • Mentor Production Managers, Coordinators and Assistants to help develop the next generation of production talent.
  • Take render planning and pipeline considerations into account when setting and adjusting the master schedule.
  • be involved in the bidding process of new VFX work.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a CG or VFX production environment.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse production team.
  • Proven planning, scheduling, and budget management expertise.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including experience leading hybrid and remote teams.
  • A meticulous eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and an eagerness to adopt new tools and technologies.
  • A team first mentality with the ability to lead by example and drive collaboration across departments.
  • Confident working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and/or Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.).
  • Proficiency with Ftrack, Flow (ShotGrid), or other industry-standard production tools.
  • In-depth understanding of CG and/or VFX pipelines and production dependencies.
  • Experience in bid generation, crew planning and overall project scoping.
