About the role

  • Review, edit, draft the documents associated with our CITs, including fund declarations, sub-advisor agreements and amendments, participation agreements, and trust documents.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records for our CITs and corporate entities.
  • Prepare, make, support and track external filings required for our CITs and corporate entities.
  • Provide both CIT-specific and general support to the Legal team. Assist as need be with information gathering, legal research and coordination with other teams.
  • Collaborate with other teams to administer and continually improve our business practices and procedures.
  • Assist with maintenance of a legal tracker for the purpose of tracking and assigning various legal tasks.
  • Other legal work as required to support the goals of the Legal team and the firm.
  • The role is a hands-on position. A successful candidate will be eager and able to move seamlessly between shifting priorities and partner with the other members of the Legal team and the business to manage and achieve expectations.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, an associate’s degree in paralegal studies, a paralegal certification from an accredited program (e.g. NALA, NFPA), or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist designation.
  • Minimum of 5 years in-house corporate legal department or law firm experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting retirement plans, retirement plan administration and/or retirement plan investment service providers preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge/use of Microsoft Office applications and experience with CLM applications preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to be organized, work independently and maintain quality of work while meeting established deadlines.
  • Advanced decision-making, problem-solving and analytical skills with particular attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and sense of responsibility. Occasional after-hours support may be required during peak times.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of Great Gray and with external stakeholders.
