About the role
- Nuclear Operations Intern working with Operations and Engineering teams at NextEra Energy. Gaining hands-on experience in nuclear operations at Plant St. Lucie.
Responsibilities
- Assist with department projects and complete challenging assignments
- Participate in field walk-downs and equipment selection
- Conduct system performance analysis and reliability assessments
- Review and update Piping and Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs)
- Support validation of operating procedures and maintenance routines
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and document plant changes
- Develop and maintain project schedules, report progress periodically
- Learn and apply safe work practices, including hazard identification
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Actively enrolled full-time in a Bachelor’s or higher degree program in: Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Maritime or similar technical disciplines
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)
- High school diploma or GED
- Must live within commuting distance of Plant St. Lucie
- Junior year or higher program status
- Cumulative 3.00 GPA or higher
