Network Designer position for Boeing working on LAN technologies and network systems. Supporting Boeing Defense, Space and Security team in collaboration with IT leaders and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Leads and performs the identification, analysis, and documentation of requirements for network LAN technologies and services (e.g., wireless, data, voice, video, cable, wire) based on customer goals, objectives, cost and security constraints
Works collaboratively with other stakeholders in focused, agile-inspired sprint teams
Provides oversight and consultation of work intake processes, backlog and execution of requests, coordinating with IT Business leaders, Product Owners and Scrum Masters
Creates and documents designs that conform to architectural and security standards to meet customer requirements
Prepares, deploys, and coordinates installation of complex implementation packages per Boeing standards
Provides Level 3 Incident/Problem Management support in preventative, proactive and reactive maintenance to meet service restoration and network availability objectives
Supports and participates in component research to provide input for more comprehensive evaluation
Leads and performs implementation planning for tactical multi-technology insertion projects using established project management methodologies
Requirements
Active IAT Level 2 certifications per DoD Instruction 8570 (8140)
3+ years of experience with Cisco routers and switches & Cisco IOS implementations
3+ years of experience with Design, Implementation and Troubleshooting of Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN)
3+ years of experience with Splunk/Syslog and log forwarding
3+ years of experience with LAN technologies: Layer2, Layer3, TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, IP Multicast, IP QoS, DHCP, NTP
Experience with Bill of Materials based on design/project requirements
Ability to support after-hours change windows and implementations
Willing to cover on call shifts, including weekends and after hours
