About the role
- Medical Interpreter/Translator ensuring effective communication between providers and patients at Stanford Health Care. Delivering high-quality interpretation and translation services to foster a supportive healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-person (IP) consecutive and simultaneous interpretation as assigned
- Provide consecutive interpretation via video or phone
- Provide sight translation following standard workflow and ethical guidelines
- Document encounters in electronic medical record (EMR) system according to departmental standards
Requirements
- High School Diploma Required
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent from foreign university) in interpretation/translation preferred
- One (1) year of progressively responsible and directly related work experience or completion of Stanford Medical Interpretation Internship
- Proficiency in English and the designated language of service
- Strong ability to establish and maintain excellent customer relationships
- Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of protected and sensitive information
- Knowledge of medical terminology
