Mechanical Field Service Engineer in propulsion systems for SCHOTTEL. Installing, commissioning, and maintaining systems on vessels while ensuring proper functionality and customer support.
Responsibilities
Install and commission propulsion systems on various vessels.
Conduct system start-ups and ensure proper functionality according to specifications.
Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections of propulsion systems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, and execute repairs promptly.
Replace or repair defective parts and components.
Provide on-site technical support and training to customers.
Respond to service calls and emergency repairs, ensuring minimal downtime for customers.
Maintain strong relationships with customers, addressing their needs and concerns.
Maintain accurate records of service activities, including reports on installations, maintenance, and repairs.
Document technical issues and solutions for future reference.
Requirements
Minimum degree of MBO-3 in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
+2 years of experience in mechanical field service, preferably in propulsion systems or a related industry.
Proven track record of successful installations, maintenance, and repairs.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
Familiarity with diagnostic tools and software used in the industry.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Fluency in English.
Dutch and French are a plus but not a must.
Enjoy travelling (up to 80% of the time) and working in various environments, including onboard ships and industrial sites.
A valid driver's license.
