About the role
- Manager, Legal Compliance overseeing crypto compliance processes. Leading team and collaborating with stakeholders to manage compliance frameworks and adapt to regulatory landscape.
Responsibilities
- Oversee a team that performs day-to-day AML, Sanctions, crypto onboarding due diligence compliance processes
- Conduct thorough investigations for crypto-related programs and customers
- Lead a team of compliance analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and support
- Allocate resources effectively to ensure timely completion of compliance tasks and investigations
- Draft, review, and update policies and procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements
- Serve as a subject matter expert advising internal compliance teams and business units
- Support the Director and BSA Officer in preparing for and responding to regulatory examinations
- Stay abreast of regulatory developments, industry trends, and emerging risks in crypto and financial services
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance crypto compliance awareness across the organization
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Law, Business) or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive, full-time experience in crypto compliance and investigations
- At least 2 years of experience delivering training and education on crypto compliance topics
- In-depth knowledge of AML, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC controls and regulatory requirements
- Professional certifications such as ACAMS, CFE, and blockchain analytics certifications are required
- Advanced expertise in cryptocurrency investigations and open-source intelligence (OSINT)
- Proficient in advanced tracing techniques for cryptocurrency transactions
- Experience managing and developing high-performing compliance teams
- Proven ability to design and implement compliance frameworks and controls tailored to crypto assets and VASPs
- Experience collaborating with technology, legal, and product teams to integrate compliance requirements into business processes
