About the role

  • Manager Compensation & Benefits role focused on designing and implementing compensation strategies for a dynamic business in Frankfurt. Leading a team and ensuring compliance with laws and market standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and further develop the team
  • Develop, maintain and implement compensation strategies and policies, including fixed and variable pay (e.g. base salary, bonuses, performance-related allowances) in collaboration with corporate headquarters and the works council
  • Establish and advance a job-grading / job evaluation system (e.g. based on established models such as Mercer, Hay, ERA etc.), ensuring transparency of job profiles and levels
  • Ensure compliance with national legal requirements, collective agreements and company agreements; monitor legal changes (e.g. regarding working time, pay transparency)
  • Conduct ongoing market studies / benchmarking and analyze internal data, perform gap analyses, identify trends
  • Develop a relevant KPI dashboard (e.g. cost of compensation programs, internal vs. market comparisons, benefits effectiveness)
  • Initiate and lead projects, e.g. standardization, introduction or optimization of C&B systems or tools (e.g. SAP HCM, SuccessFactors or other systems)

Requirements

  • Completed degree, ideally in business administration, economics, human resources management, economics or a comparable field
  • Several years (min. 8–10 years) of leadership experience in Compensation & Benefits / compensation management
  • Experience with job-grading / job evaluation systems
  • Good knowledge of national labor, tax and social security law in Germany
  • Experience with collective agreements, company agreements, and compensation and bonus models
  • Experience with HR systems / tools: e.g. SAP HCM, SuccessFactors, Excel / Power BI, and where applicable salary benchmarking tools
  • Analytical thinking, strong numerical affinity, ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable recommendations
  • Ability to engage and persuade stakeholders
  • Very good German and English skills, spoken and written
