Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts
Conduct variance analysis and provide insightful commentary to management
Assist in the preparation of management reports and presentations
Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
Manage fixed assets register and depreciation
Reconcile general ledger accounts
Assist with year-end preparations
Oversee end-to-end payroll for all employees/contractors accurately and on time
Ensure compliance with relevant industrial awards, agreements, and legislation
Administer superannuation contributions and ensure compliance with Superannuation Guarantee (SG) obligations
Prepare and lodge PAYG withholding tax
Issue payslips and annual Payment Summaries (now Income Statements via STP)
Resolve payroll-related queries from employees and maintain accurate, confidential payroll records
Prepare and lodge monthly/quarterly BAS and reconcile GST accounts
Ensure accurate calculation and reporting of GST, PAYG Withholding, FBT instalments, and other relevant taxes
Stay up-to-date with changes in Australian tax legislation and liaise with the Australian Taxation Office as required
Assist with ad-hoc financial projects, identify and implement process improvements, and maintain strong internal controls and financial integrity
Report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and collaborate with the Finance team
Requirements
Strong knowledge of accounting principles
Meticulous attention to detail
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA/CA qualification (or working towards)
Proven experience as a Management Accountant with significant payroll and BAS responsibilities
In-depth knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax legislation
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero)
Advanced Excel skills
