About the role

  • Represent mortgage lenders and investor clients in commercial and residential foreclosure, title disputes and real estate litigation
  • Make appearances in state and federal court for routine and contested hearings
  • Review incoming litigation and develop case strategy
  • Draft motions, other documents, written discovery and responses
  • Conduct settlement negotiations
  • Manage caseload of contested matters for residential and commercial mortgage lenders and investors
  • Analyze loan files, title reports and other client documents
  • Communicate with clients regularly for updates and case resolution

Requirements

  • J.D. degree
  • Licensed in Texas and in good standing with the Texas Bar
  • 2-5 years relevant Litigation experience (5-8+ years preferred)
  • 2-5 years motion practice experience (5-8+ years preferred)
  • 2-5 years courtroom experience (5-8+ years preferred)
  • Knowledge of Texas Mortgage Foreclosure Law
  • Knowledge of Texas Code of Civil Procedure and Supreme Court Rules
  • Previous experience with foreclosure litigation involving residential and commercial property (preferred)
  • Strong writing skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate written and oral
  • Ability to work independently or in a group/team setting
  • Ability to maintain high level of professionalism
  • Ability to interact and communicate well with clients, staff, peers and management of all levels
  • Authorization to work in the United States
