About the role
- Legal Counsel shaping global legal and regulatory strategy for Prodigy Finance, an international student lender. Collaborating with legal and finance teams to manage equity transactions and support global marketing activities.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with subject matter experts across the legal team to shape and execute Prodigy Finance’s global legal and regulatory strategy.
- Work with the legal enforcement team to support Prodigy Finance’s global arbitration practice.
- Partner with the finance team to manage equity transactions and shareholder arrangements.
- Support go-to-market activities for our global marketing teams.
- Collaborate with business owners to manage and coordinate third-party procurement and contract negotiation.
- Monitor new and updated regulations.
Requirements
- An admitted lawyer who is qualified in South Africa or England.
- Around 5 years’ legal experience gained at a reputable law firm or legal service provider, or in-house at a bank, financial services company or lending business.
- Preferably experience working in the regulated financial services market.
- Preferably experience working in - or with - a global business that operates in multiple jurisdictions.
- Preferably start-up or scale-up experience.
