About the role
- Senior Legal Counsel at Monzo handling commercial contracts and IP matters. Engaging with various stakeholders and contributing to the company’s goals.
Responsibilities
- Leading on commercial contracts
- Supporting the delivery of our intellectual property strategy
- Being a subject matter expert on AI related matters
- Managing relationships with our external legal counsel and alternative legal service providers and contractors
- Developing and implementing processes and procedures to increase the efficiency and scalability of commercial legal advice across Monzo
Requirements
- You have around 5 years plus of relevant post qualification experience (or equivalent)
- You have deep experience in all aspects of contract law
- You have a genuine interest in commercial contracts
- You have some experience advising on intellectual property related matters (copyright and trade marks in particular)
- You have some experience in artificial intelligence, particularly key legal issues related to the use of generative artificial intelligence
- You have familiarity with the use of legal technology, including generative AI systems and contract lifecycle management platforms
- You have some experience of financial services regulation as it relates to commercial contracts (such as material outsourcings, digital operational resilience and operational continuity)
- You have some experience in the transactional elements of data protection, including negotiating data sharing agreements, data processing agreements, and standard contractual clauses
- You are a strategic thinker, a strong communicator and a keen problem solver
- You are comfortable operating at all levels of the organisation
