About the role
- Contribute to cognitive and neuropsychology initiatives and teaching
- Design and deliver teaching content across a range of modules at Levels 4 to 6 in Psychology Programmes
- Contribute to curriculum planning and development and develop new courses
- Engage in research or scholarly activity in Psychology to support the university’s research strategy and inform and enhance curriculum design
- Supervise or mentor colleagues with less experience and advise them on personal development
- Work with industry and educational partners and bring professional experiences into the classroom
- Help guide the focus of teaching and research in Psychology at Bath Spa University and improve student experience
Requirements
- A BPS accredited degree in Psychology or a PhD
- Recent, successful experience of university teaching in BPS-designated core areas of Psychology
- Excellent ICT skills including e-learning tools
- A knowledge of cognitive psychology and/or neuropsychology
- Experience of teaching and/or leading undergraduate modules covering areas of Psychology which either complement and/or extend our current undergraduate module offering
- Fellowship of the HEA
- A track record or demonstrable potential in Psychology research, professional practice and / or scholarship in line with career stage
- Experience of working with educational partners
- Applicants with fewer than five years teaching experience in Higher Education of at least 0.8 FTE or equivalent who do not hold a Teaching and Learning in Higher Education Certificate accredited by the Higher Education Academy (HEA) or HEA fellowship will be required to complete an approved Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education course during the first two years of employment
- Applicants with more than five years teaching experience in Higher Education of at least 0.8FTE or equivalent who do not hold a Teaching and Learning in Higher Education Certificate accredited by the Higher Education Academy (HEA) or HEA fellowship will be required to accredit their practice through the HEA fellowship application process during their 6-month probation period
