About the role

  • Holistic nursing care and support for older adults with psychiatric disorders such as dementia, depression, or schizophrenia in an inpatient setting.
  • Participation in diagnostics and therapy in close collaboration with physicians, psychologists, and other therapists to develop individual treatment and care plans.
  • Professional nursing documentation and planning, including preparation of care reports in accordance with current care and quality standards.
  • Advising and supporting relatives on questions related to care, the disease, and interacting with older people experiencing psychological changes.
  • Participation in crisis interventions and application of de-escalation techniques to create a safe, respectful environment for residents and staff.
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration with professionals from nursing, medicine, psychology, social work, and therapy to promote holistic care.

Requirements

  • Completed training as a licensed nursing professional (m/f/d) – e.g., registered nurse, geriatric nurse, or general nursing qualification – plus additional training as a gerontopsychiatric specialist (m/f/d).
  • Ideally qualified as a practice instructor to pass on your expertise to trainees.
  • Enthusiasm for implementing modern care and support concepts, particularly for people with dementia and age-related psychological changes.
  • Empathetic and respectful communication with residents, relatives, and team members.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Identification with the Christian values of Lafim-Diakonie and acting with appreciation and ethical responsibility.
