About the role
- Lead Sound Designer responsible for audio design and mentoring audio team at Virtuos. Join a leading game development company creating immersive gaming experiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead audio team members assigned to the project, providing guidance, feedback, and support throughout the development process.
- Set the quality bar for the audio team through creating and implementing world-class audio.
- Define and maintain the audio vision in the project.
- Organize regular reviews with the audio team, providing feedback and identifying opportunities for iteration.
- Work closely with the production team to plan and schedule the audio team’s workload.
- Mentor the audio team and embed best practice principles in their work.
- Identify new audio pipelines and iterate on current audio processes.
Requirements
- Experience as a Lead on AAA games
- Strong creative sound design skills.
- Advanced working knowledge of Wwise middleware.
- Strong proficiency with industry-standard audio software and tools (DAW and Plugins)
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in game audio, technology, and tools, and incorporate innovative techniques to enhance audio quality and efficiency.
- Experience with sprint planning and reviewing
- Have a refined ear, and a commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in mixing on 5.1 surround configuration set up
- Skilled in foley creation and field recording
- Experience with Unreal Engine (Blueprint and MetaSounds)
- 5+ years of professional experience in audio production for video games, with at least 2 years in a principal, leadership, or supervisory role.
- Experience on shipping at least 2 titles
- Programing knowledge (C++, C#...)
