About the role

  • Lead the efforts to implement Epic Genomics for the Nemours enterprise and other lab application strategies as needed for the Nemours enterprise.
  • Create and lead the Genomics Implementation.
  • Support Nemours’ medical and research laboratory operations by ensuring the efficient and accurate use of software applications, technology, and electronic medical records.
  • Engage with end users, helping them navigate and optimize informatics tools while identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Responsible for building, testing, and validating new system functionality, performing workflow and data analysis, and configuring applications to meet operational needs while upholding enterprise standards.
  • Collaborate with senior management to plan, implement, and evaluate system effectiveness.
  • Coordinate updates and enhancements, and facilitate hardware installations across IT, patient care, and business teams.
  • Provide on-call and first-line support, conducting workflow assessments, and supporting application implementation and upgrades.
  • Apply project management and change management methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Internal candidates only: Equivalent work experience may be considered for internal candidates in lieu of education requirements.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Prior Laboratory clinical experience, Healthcare Operation or IT experience required.
  • If ASCP Certified MLS must maintain certification.
  • Certification in Epic Anatomic Pathology or Clinical Pathology recommended. Epic Genomics Certification preferred. Achieve and maintain one or more application specific certifications in accordance with vendor requirements required. Certification in Epic module as required to support the application is required after hire.
  • Strong software and application knowledge.
  • Project Management experience preferred.
