About the role

  • Analyst, Back Office managing operational data and process improvement for retail energy fulfillment. Engaging in quality assurance, support execution, and mentoring team members in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze operational data and business processes to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to take on unfamiliar or challenging tasks beyond one’s comfort zone to support team objectives and foster continuous growth.
  • Participate in continuous process improvement reviews with the OFS & SMB Support team.
  • Recommend and help implement process changes to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Support documentation and maintenance of process manuals and service standards.
  • Perform timely and accurate fulfillment of all retail Electricity & Natural Gas business processes.
  • Assist in EBS operations and maintenance tasks under the direction of leadership or senior team members.
  • Communicate with customers, distributors, and internal stakeholders to resolve complex or escalated support issues.
  • Ensure adherence to information, security requirements and compliance with business processes, market regulations, and company terms & conditions.
  • Participate in QA/testing activities for EBS-related projects, enhancements, and releases.
  • Support incident management by creating and updating ITSM tickets for back-office IT-related issues.
  • Assist with release management activities, including readiness reviews and deployment support.
  • Contribute to project teams by providing analytical insights and supporting project deliverables.
  • Provide informal guidance and mentorship to junior team members; assist with onboarding and training as needed.
  • Share best practices and support knowledge transfer within the team.
  • Help monitor team workflow and provide feedback to the supervisor on process or training gaps.
  • Promote professionalism, customer service, and continuous improvement within the back-office team.
  • Prepared to assist and deliver exceptional customer service if service levels require additional support.

Requirements

  • Minimum, Undergraduate Bachelor degree
  • 3-5 years’ experience in related field
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to engage with internal and external customers.
  • Communication skills are critical. Both verbal and written communication skills will be essential in producing the results required for the role.
  • Proven track record of high performance and career progression.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit with a desire to create or build a business.
  • Understanding of retail markets, specifically the Alberta Energy market an asset.
  • Comfortable with job duties that will morph as the business grows and include “other duties as assigned”.
