About the role

  • Intern working on mechanical design and systems development at Pratt & Whitney. Contributing to aerospace projects with a diverse engineering team in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

  • Research, plan, design and develop mechanical products and systems in areas including, but not limited to, mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, thermodynamic, or heat transfer for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy.
  • Develop technically sound design solutions within program schedule milestones that meet cost and weight goals.
  • Understand technical processes and design requirements of multiple gas turbine hardware including plumbing and ducting systems, component mounts, sheet metal brackets, electrical harnesses, Bearings, Seals, Housing, Gears, Oil Nozzles, etc.
  • Learn and apply solid modeling and analysis tools
  • Communicate with team leadership and management on status and risks to program

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in an applicable field of study such as Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
