About the role
- Geotechnical Design Engineer managing ground risk by delivering geotechnical assessment and design. Involved in a portfolio of complex geotechnical projects across Defence, Nuclear Power, and Government-Owned Critical Infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- managing ground risk by delivering geotechnical assessment, analysis, design and construction supervision
- conducting preliminary source, feasibility, value engineering, innovation and sustainability studies
- performing land and overwater ground investigations including advanced in situ and laboratory testing and data management
- conducting ground characterisation, parametrisation and modelling of soil and rock
- performing numerical and FE analyses of geotechnical problems, including seismic and dynamic analysis
- technical construction assurance
Requirements
- experience or exposure to ground engineering with a focus on geotechnical design
- knowledge of geotechnical standards and codes of practice
- relevant experience of ground investigation, geotechnical analysis, design and technical reporting
- degree (BEng, MEng, MSc) in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or equivalent
- applicants must be willing to obtain SC level security clearance and have resided in the UK for the preceding 5 years
