Responsibilities
Perform advanced billing and collection activities
May act as a Lead IBC Assistant
Make collection calls, verifying accuracy and completeness of claims
Contact insurance companies and collection agencies to expedite payments
Handle discounts, adjustments and charge corrections
Perform collection follow-up on specific financial classifications like commercial insurance and self-pay
Respond to questions and requests from insurance companies
Support customer service unit in answering billing and collection questions
Act as back-up support for Accounts Receivable staff during peak times
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience
Billing or insurance experience (3 years)
No specific certification is required
Post-secondary education (2 years) preferred
Skills: Collections Strategies, Communication, Computer Literacy, Confidential Data Handling, Medical Terminology, Office Equipment, Telephone System
Driver's license not required.
