About the role

  • In-House General Counsel handling employment practices and contract legal operations for the CEO Lawyer Law Firm. Contributing to revenue generation through external employment law cases.

Responsibilities

  • Advise senior leadership on legal compliance and risk mitigation related to employment practices, employee relations, and HR policies.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate internal firm contracts including vendor agreements, partnership agreements, and NDAs.
  • Oversee internal investigations and provide recommendations on disciplinary actions or employment disputes.
  • Ensure compliance with multi-state employment laws and regulatory updates affecting law firm operations.
  • Manage and litigate external employment law cases including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and wage/hour claims.
  • Provide legal counsel to the business on compliance with federal and state employment laws.
  • Draft employment contracts, handbooks, severance agreements, and non-compete clauses for external clients.
  • Develop strategies to grow the firm’s employment law caseload and contribute to firm revenue goals.
  • Represent clients in mediations, administrative hearings (EEOC, DOL), and court proceedings.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license in at least one of the following states: GA, TN, NY, SC, and/or CA.
  • Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, with a strong focus on employment law and contracts.
  • Proven track record of litigation success and/or client advisory in employment law matters.
  • Strong understanding of HR practices, regulatory compliance, and contract law.
  • Excellent communication, drafting, and negotiation skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to generate and manage client relationships.
