About the role
- IFRS Accounting Specialist assisting in financial statement preparation per IFRS standards. Collaborating with finance professionals and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting compliance.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in full compliance with IFRS standards on an annual basis.
- Provide support during the month-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation of journal entries and reconciliations
- Conduct research on accounting issues and provides recommendations based on IFRS guidelines
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external auditors throughout the financial audit process.
- Contribute to ad-hoc financial projects, analyses, and reporting initiatives as required.
- Perform IFRS adjustments, with a strong focus on IFRS 16 (leases).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Solid understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles. Prior experience in a Big 4 firm will be considered an advantage.
- Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, will be considered a plus
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with SAP will be considered an asset
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent knowledge of the English language, both written and oral
