About the role

  • develop familiarity by reading, understanding and applying departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Black and Veatch policies and procedures
  • contribute to preparation of less complex engineering deliverables such as drawings, reports, specifications, and studies of limited scope
  • perform routine research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection
  • collect, assimilate, and manage data for engineering work
  • prepare basic engineering calculations following standard methods and principles used in similar engineering analysis
  • shares information with others as requested
  • focus on the needs of internal clients (project team leadership)

Requirements

  • bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering from a recognized accredited program
  • coursework and knowledge of Power Systems, Motors, Transformers, Renewable Energy, Power Delivery, or Three Phase Power Calculations
  • cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • previous internship experience
  • basic knowledge of engineering design principles, design guides, and standards
  • insights of industry trends and developing technologies
  • fundamental knowledge of construction practices and principles
