About the role

  • Serve as a subject matter tax expert and provide tax advice on complex North American operational fund tax issues
  • Support complex North American operational tax compliance processes and governance frameworks
  • Identify operational tax issues impacting complex fund structures and collaborate with internal and external tax advisors
  • Support periodic and ad-hoc tax planning for portfolio managers
  • Lead and support projects, including process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency
  • Advise on operational and strategic tax matters and internal process development
  • Identify, assess and mitigate tax-related risks
  • Manage relationships with external service providers
  • Lead change initiatives and educate teams on tax best practices

Requirements

  • 7+ years in tax, preferably focused on investment funds
  • Master’s degree in Tax, Law, Accounting, or Finance
  • CPA, CA, or ACCA certification preferred
  • Expertise in complex retail and private investment structures
  • Knowledge of complex securities and alternative investments
  • Strong operational efficiency skills
  • Accredited in one of lean six sigma, CPOE, CEE or equivalent preferred
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Experience with project management and automation tools (Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau)
