About the role

  • Monthly and annual reconciliation of general ledger and sub-ledger accounts
  • Prepare, review, verify, and process accounting transactions in New World and AFIS
  • Collect and prepare revenue and expenditure forecast data for cash flow reports and lease schedules
  • Run budget reports for assigned funds and monitor compliance with policies and procedures
  • Maintain finance policy and procedures through scheduled reviews
  • Monitor capital expenditures, conduct asset inventories, and reconcile to fixed asset schedules
  • Record and track capital assets and maintain required reports for Finance Office
  • Perform monthly cost pool clearing allocations and prepare journal entry transfers between funds
  • Provide administrative and technical support to Administrative Services Director, CFO, and Finance management and budget staff
  • Communicate with AOC personnel, respond to inquiries, and resolve problems
  • Maintain audit-proof organization and management of financial files and documents
  • Develop PowerPoint presentations as requested
  • Maintain and provide monthly status reports and weekly updates on projects and performance indicators
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement of operations and streamline work processes

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree (Directly related experience may substitute for the degree requirement)
  • Minimum of two years of general accounting experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
  • Strong detail orientation
  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and priorities
  • Exercise good judgement and perform under strict time frames with high level of confidentiality
  • Highly motivated and well organized
  • Preference given to experience in the governmental sector specifically relating to finance and accounting
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
