About the role
- Financial Analyst supporting evaluation and execution of infrastructure investments in power, transport, water, waste, and agriculture. Analyzing financial data and preparing reports for investment decisions.
Responsibilities
- Support structuring, financial analysis, and due diligence on infrastructure investment programs
- Work on Investment Team on evaluation, structuring, and execution of transactions
- Evaluate potential transactions in infrastructure and energy sector during "initial deal overview" phase
- Conduct detailed diligence on investment opportunities that pass "initial deal overview" phase
- Prepare investment memoranda, supporting reports, and asset funding requests for Investment Committee approval
- Analyze financial information related to specific companies for investor positioning
- Draft and negotiate investment term sheets, investment legal documents, and commercial contracts for company investments
- Perform market research for target investment sectors to yield future investments
- Negotiate financial aspects of transactions and explain reasoning for proposed terms
- Draft long-form term sheets reflecting transaction terms for sustainable infrastructure investments
- Work with legal counsel to ensure financial concepts and accurately represented in legal documentation
- Develop financial covenants for transactions with sufficient downside protection
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or a related field
- 1 year of post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, Investment Banking Associate, Investment Associate, Investment Banking Analyst, Investment Analyst, or an investment banking related occupation
- Demonstrated experience with evaluating, bidding into, and executing transactions with infrastructure and industrials sector participants
- Performing investment and valuation analysis for sustainable infrastructure companies and assets
- Showing the proforma impact of debt and equity transactions
- Project finance underwriting
- Understanding of non-recourse asset financing
- Understanding of the drivers of the renewable energy and electricity grid sectors
- Financial modeling of financial projections for projects, companies, and assets
- Conducting sensitivity analyses
- Performing risk assessments and due diligence specific to infrastructure assets and investments
- Utilization of precedent transactions analysis in the private infrastructure sector
- Analysis of financial statements, including cash flow statements, income statements, and balance sheets
- Drafting and preparation of transaction investment memoranda for internal committees
