About the role

  • Manage leadership staff of solar day to day field operations, including MV and DC underground and above ground activities
  • Strategically allocate manpower across all solar projects to maintain contractual schedules and internal budgets
  • Provide financial and operational support to project managers and executive management
  • Generate and implement strategies to improve efficiency throughout project builds
  • Manage resource allocation and oversee all projects from inception to completion
  • Frequent customer engagement, contract analysis, and oversight of project budgeting, change orders, and material procurement
  • Review and understand contracts prior to execution and address concerns with customer or project team
  • Approve material submittal packages and review project manager weekly forecasts and summary reports
  • Assign and manage resources for solar projects, including subcontract labor; maintain resource allocation log and monthly forecast
  • Hire, discipline, and terminate crew members; directly responsible for all crews
  • Ensure project managers submit contract deliverables and provide on time; assist with SOV billing percentages and change order documentation
  • Provide guidance to project managers on budgets; facilitate quotes and recommend subcontractors for MV and soil testing
  • Maintain consistent on-site presence to ensure project execution and customer relationships
  • Cultivate safety as a core value and support corporate safety program

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; Advanced education preferred (Degree and/or PMP Certification)
  • Six+ years of progressive project management, electrical, solar, and/or power utility experience (preferred)
  • In depth knowledge of underground utility installation and required equipment
  • NFPA 70E Certification (preferred)
  • Familiar with OSHA regulations (required); OSHA training and certifications (preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Ability to work long and/or extended hours including weekends and travel frequently
  • Familiar with Local code, AHJ standards, and NEC code
  • Ability to read and interpret contracts, plans, and specifications
  • Strong leadership, analytical thinking, problem solving, and computer skills
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical construction
  • Commitment to high professional ethical standards and collaborative work style
  • Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search)
