Responsibilities
- The Engineering Cost and Sourcing Specialist proactively leads and optimizes cost and sourcing activities, utilizing tools and streamlining processes across new programs.
- Responsibilities include daily cost & sourcing tracking & reporting, change tracking & managing, and benchmarking competitor data for all commodities.
- This role involves working closely with suppliers for quotes, negotiating material, tooling, and ED&T costs throughout product development, and independently managing VHE sourcing.
- The ECS Specialist will lead critical cost approvals across all forums, manage CMFs and CRFs, and track SIR and ED&T governance board approvals.
- The specialist adeptly brings together cross-functional teams across regions and time zones, facilitating/leading meetings & discussions, serving as an SME for cost & sourcing processes, championing continuous improvement, coaching less experienced engineers, and demonstrating thorough system understanding.
