About the role

  • Technical Buyer managing procurement in a robotics hardware startup. Contributing to operational excellence and supplier management with engineering and finance teams.

Responsibilities

  • Handle day-to-day procurement activities on behalf of the engineers
  • Manage supplier relationships in Germany and internationally
  • Goods receipt inspection — check quality and coordinate payments
  • Build basic process documentation (we currently use Excel)
  • Conduct negotiations with major suppliers and integrators
  • Develop quality assurance processes
  • Establish scalable procurement processes
  • Support contract work with suppliers and customers

Requirements

  • Technical education (engineering, industrial engineering, or technical vocational training)
  • Understanding of mechatronic components — motors, mechanical and electrical parts; ability to evaluate replacement components
  • Several years of experience in technical purchasing for physical products
  • Supplier management
  • Process knowledge — order management, payment coordination, goods receipt inspection
  • Fluent German (C1/C2) and strong English (C1+)
  • Excellent communication — this role involves 60%+ conversations with suppliers, engineers, finance, and customers
  • Startup-compatible — comfortable with ambiguity and willing to build processes from the ground up
