About the role
- Engineer supporting design and implementation of distribution automation telecommunications systems at Eversource. Collaborating on data communication protocols and troubleshooting network issues.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and perform engineering assignments (design and implementation) in support of distribution automation telecommunication systems for Eversource.
- Collaborate with other senior staff members to ensure the right mix of data communications protocols, technologies, products and services are selected.
- Troubleshoot and build the distribution automation communications network at Eversource.
- Technical contribution to a team of telecommunications engineering staff to plan, engineer, design, and support wireless data telecommunications system.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Electrical Engineering degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the design, implementation and support of wireless SCADA data telecommunications systems.
- Experience with the application of wireless SCADA data telecommunications infrastructure within a utility application using DNP 3.0 protocol is preferred.
- Understanding of electric utility systems is strongly preferred.
