About the role

  • Lead all product development aspects of Vehicle Fuel Economy/EV Range Certification and Roadload Governance for US and NA-Led European programs.
  • Lead the Official NA EPA and EU FE/Range certification process to achieve FE targets and ensure timely delivery to support launch timing.
  • Work on global cross-functional teams across multiple departments within the company.
  • Lead the roadload development in parasitic loss testing; test new hardware to develop mean center parasitic losses, track control charts, identify emerging issues, and report results to leadership.
  • Conduct Quarterly tire audits to ensure roadloads reflect actual customer tire rolling resistance; develop annual tire audit plan and coordinate quarterly tire purchases with the chassis team.
  • Support Fuel Economy testing with onsite data acquisition (as needed; training provided).
  • Support FE/Parasitics issue resolution workstreams with VEME/ESC Technical Specialists.

Requirements

  • Minimum BSc, Engineering (pref Mechanical)
  • 5+ years of Automotive experience
  • Ability to support On-Site testing at Allen Park Test Laboratories (daily if needed)
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Self-directed with strong ability to support a variety of projects with limited resources.
  • Creative thinker with ability to establish a systems engineering approach to developing solutions to difficult multivariable problems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required for presenting analysis to management and working with interfacing attribute teams.
  • Preference MS, Engineering (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Ford engineering systems and processes. (preferred)
  • Automotive hardware (driveline) troubleshooting experience. (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Excel, DET,MCS1, ATI, PT Diag. (preferred)
