About the role

  • Review the technical and commercial contract requirements of the switchgear projects
  • Configure and design switchgear, medium voltage motor control center, the safety and environmental standards.
  • Review and confirm product configuration and engineering solution meet customer specifications/SLD’s/datasheets
  • Generate a Bill of Materials (BOM) to satisfy the product order requirements.
  • Quote and estimate switchgear projects and custom build distribution product.
  • Create spare and aftermarket part lists for low voltage switchgear/switchboard, the medium voltage control system as per project requirements-ensures operability in the field.
  • Ensure the manufacturing, drawing and final product comply with the customer contract and fulfill the safety requirements.
  • Controlling all changes through the change management process.
  • Take proactive measures to avoid non-compliance costs, rework, unplanned outages, and environmental flaring.
  • Meet safety, quality, schedule, and financial objectives.
  • Manage commercial aspects of the project/proposal, which includes meeting with clients, conducting final inspections, witnessing tests, and providing documentation packages as per requirements.
  • Provide application and engineering support to manufacturer production, marketing, quotation groups, PM’s, sales, field service, warranty administrators and customers.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy in alignment with the company's business objectives.
  • Set clear and measurable sales targets, both short-term and long-term, and create actionable plans to achieve them.
  • Oversee all aspects of sales operations, including forecasting, pipeline management, and sales reporting.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and product development, to ensure product-market fit and effective sales strategies.
  • Implement and manage sales technologies and tools to optimize sales processes and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (Master's degree preferred)
  • Professional Engineering membership, P. Eng or P.E, is preferred
  • Build and maintain a working knowledge of electrical theory and applicable industry standards including IEEE/ANSI, UL, CCSA, NEC, IBC and NFPA.
  • Applied knowledge of low & medium voltage distribution equipment ratings and design such as LV/MV Switchgear, Motor Control Centers, and Breakers.
  • Previous work experience in a switchgear manufacturer or electrical distributor as an asset
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical specifications
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings to include single lines, three lines, schematics and wiring diagram
  • Strong understanding of sales strategies, market dynamics, and industry trends.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in sales management software and CRM systems.
  • Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
