About the role

  • Lead all mission delivery functions, ensuring integration, innovation, and alignment with strategic goals;
  • Translate strategy into actionable plans with clear results and accountability;
  • Promote a learning culture and ensure evidence informs programme design and advocacy;
  • Drive innovation and scale new models and approaches for impact;
  • Embed child participation and inclusion across all programmatic and influencing work;
  • Engage with donors and shape funding opportunities aligned with strategic priorities;
  • Champion influencing by connecting evidence and learning to policy engagement;
  • Ensure organisational policies on Child Participation, PSE, and Gender & SOGIESC are embedded across departments;
  • Represent TdH NL in global child rights, research, and advocacy fora;
  • Build strategic partnerships with donors, civil society, academia, and policy networks;
  • Lead external engagement to mobilise resources and influence;
  • Promote thought leadership and ensure evidence informs advocacy and communications;
  • Serve as a key voice for the CEO and SLT on impact, safeguarding, and mission delivery;
  • Lead and support the Heads of Programmes, Research & Influencing, and Partnerships & Quality;
  • Ensure safeguarding is embedded across all areas of work;
  • Drive cross-departmental collaboration and innovation;
  • Promote meaningful child participation in programme design, research, and advocacy;
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive team culture;
  • Contribute to organisational strategy and governance as part of the SLT.

Requirements

  • At least 15 years of senior leadership experience in international development, child rights, or humanitarian sectors
  • Proven expertise in fundraising, evidence-based programming, and impact measurement
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through change and foster innovation
  • Strong track record in translating strategy into operational excellence
  • Deep commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
  • Experience building strategic partnerships across sectors
  • Recognised thought leadership and external representation skills
  • Proven success in positioning organisations as high-impact actors
