About the role

  • Lead engineering teams to deliver AI and analytics solutions managing medical cost for Elevance Health. Drive innovation, vendor strategy, budgets, and stakeholder partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic oversight and delivery of enterprise technology solutions, inclusive of AI, analytics and agentic solutions, focused on managing medical cost.
  • Lead engineering teams and collaborate with internal technology teams to deliver scalable enterprise level solutions that proactively manage medical costs through AI & analytics.
  • Drive innovation technology solutions to change how Elevance Health manages medical costs and proactively identify and act to ensure affordable healthcare.
  • Plan, direct, and control multiple teams and initiatives, including design, development, and testing teams delivering AI & analytics solutions.
  • Provide technology thought leadership to business partners to ensure delivery of scalable solutions that enable enterprise priorities and financial goals.
  • Plan and execute technology solutions while managing to budgetary constraints and P&L responsibility.
  • Interface with key technology solution vendors; develop strategies and performance measurement plans to optimize vendor and associate performance and outcomes.
  • Develop application technology plans and forecasting for enterprise applications, tools, infrastructure, or domains; manage domains or suites of applications.
  • Oversee strategic planning, budget development, contract compliance, and integration of government regulatory requirements where applicable.
  • Ensure disaster recovery and business continuity plans are implemented, monitored, and updated.
  • Identify and resolve hurdles for assigned areas/groups according to established deadlines.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with key business partners and customers to understand product enhancements or features.
  • Hire, train, coach, counsel, and evaluate performance of direct reports.

Requirements

  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 8 years of IT management experience in the area of function being managed; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Health insurance industry experience, specifically at a provider or payer strongly preferred.
  • AI delivery of business solutions strongly preferred.
  • Experience delivering AI and technology solutions for a targeted business function strongly preferred.
  • Prior people leadership experience preferred.
