About the role
- Director of Credit Claims overseeing surety and trade credit claims for Everest Insurance. Directing investigations, negotiating claims, and collaborating with stakeholders to resolve complex cases.
Responsibilities
- Direct Handle Surety & Trade Credit/Political Risk Claims and Pre-Claim Matters
- Investigate contract and commercial surety bond claims
- Work within specific limits of authority on assignments of significant technical complexity and coordination
- Utilizing claims policies and guidelines reviews coverages, investigates and determines liability; compensability; identify and implements loss mitigation strategies; negotiates and resolves claims
- Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines
- Sets reserves and authorizes payments within scope of authority
- Coordinates and performs investigations and evaluates claims and suits through contact with principals, claimants, business partners, counsel, and experts
- Analyzes claims activities. Prepares and presents reports for management
Requirements
- JD preferred or CPA
- A minimum 3 to 5 years claims experience
- Solid knowledge of claims and surety/trade credit/political risk and insurance industry theory and practices
- Demonstrated technical expertise and product specific knowledge
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills enabling viable alternative solutions
- Ability to exercise independent judgement and make critical business decisions effectively assessing the merits of claims
