About the role

  • Lead and produce culture-driving campaigns for HBO Max across earned, owned, social, and global media channels
  • Help shape HBO Max's brand voice and reinforce its high-quality DNA
  • Lead creative development of social-first, PR-worthy campaigns from concept to execution
  • Sub in as art director and/or copywriter when needed; execute big ideas with little supervision
  • Craft platform-native content optimized for conversation and sharing on TikTok, X, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit
  • Pitch bold, earned ideas and launch unexpected partnerships to drive cultural conversations
  • Partner with brand strategy and comms to identify cultural opportunities, real-time moments, and community-driven trends
  • Collaborate empathetically with cross-functional teams (brand strategy, editorial, a/v, experiential, art, copy, influencers, producers)
  • Ensure all work aligns with HBO Max brand positioning and meets high standards of creative excellence, originality, and relevance

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8+ years creative experience in advertising, branded content, social media, or PR
  • Proven track record of work that earned attention
  • Deep understanding of entertainment (film, TV, music, fashion, internet culture, humor, social trends, meme culture, influencer ecosystems)
  • Conceptual excellence: strong on big-earned campaign ideas and platform-native executions
  • Ability to sub in for an art director and/or copywriter (unicorn hybrid skills)
  • Skilled, empathetic collaboration across global teams (brand strategy, editorial, a/v, experiential, art, copy, influencers, producers)
  • Comfortable with fast-turn creative, editorial thinking, and real-time moments
  • Ability to pitch bold, earned ideas that land in pop culture, press headlines and social algorithms
  • Experience crafting native social platform content (TikTok, X, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit)
  • Ability to shape brand voice and ensure alignment with HBO Max brand positioning
