About the role

  • Develops predictive models to support business needs. Identify patient adherence risks, optimize medication therapy management, etc.
  • Applies machine learning techniques to uncover patterns in patient behavior, treatment efficacy, and operational efficiency.
  • Translates complex data into actionable insights for pharmacy leadership and clinical teams.
  • Participates in the end-to-end lifecycle of AI projects, from ideation to model deployment and monitoring.
  • Supports strategic initiatives such as value-based care programs, payer reporting, and clinical trial analytics.
  • Works with data engineers to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and security across pharmacy systems.
  • Cleans, transforms, and validates large datasets from EMRs, claims, dispensing systems, and patient engagement platforms.
  • Works with Data Architect to evaluate and implement new tools, technologies, and methodologies to advance the organization’s AI capabilities.
  • Communicates complex technical concepts and project outcomes to non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership.
  • Champions data governance, quality, and security best practices across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of professional experience in data science.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Strong understanding of data privacy, security, and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, NCPDP) and familiarity with HIPAA compliance preferred.
  • Experience with NLP for clinical text analysis preferred.
  • Knowledge of payer-provider dynamics and specialty pharmacy reimbursement models preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Azure cloud platform and Azure Databricks preferred.
