Responsibilities
- As a Compliance Consultant, you will be responsible for assisting with compliance initiatives with specific focus on regulatory change management.
- This role is responsible for supporting strategies to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and company policies.
- In addition, you will be accountable for raising awareness on compliance matters.
- With guidance and oversight, assist in providing information for non-financial market regulatory activities, including market conduct exams, interrogatories, surveys, and data calls.
- Maintain awareness of matters related to compliance with laws, regulations, applicable company policies, and ethical behavior.
- Review and communicate new or revised laws, regulations, bulletins, and regulatory publications of applicable to Travelers business.
- Provide support to applicable business partners on assigned legal/regulatory change matters to implement and/or modify business processes, systems, or workflows to ensure compliance.
- Monitor, track and respond to inquiries from business partners and third parties pertaining to regulatory changes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Three years prior experience with state jurisdictional guidelines, regulations, and procedures.
- Ability to analyze and understand laws and regulations as required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to actively listen and empathize and pay attention to detail and clearly convey information to various audiences.
- Relationship building skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with internal and external partners and build rapport.
- Ability to manage time and competing priorities and provide management with accurate and timely status information.
- Analyze information using reasoning and judgment to make decisions and solve problems.
- Two years of relevant business, compliance, and/or regulatory experience.
