About the role

  • Guide students and families through all aspects of the university application process, including course selection, essay writing, recommendation letters, interviews, and deadlines.
  • Support students in identifying and applying to universities and programs that align with their academic profile, interests, and long-term goals.
  • Organize and lead college fairs, university visits, and workshops for students and parents.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global university systems, including the UK, US, Canada, Europe, and Latin America.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with university admissions offices and global higher education networks.
  • Develop and maintain resources, data, and tracking systems related to university applications and placements.
  • Collaborate with teachers, Heads of Department, and leadership to ensure academic and emotional readiness for post-secondary education.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in IB Psychology, in line with the IB Diploma Programme framework.
  • Create an engaging classroom environment that fosters curiosity, analytical thinking, and research skills.
  • Guide students in their Internal Assessments and Extended Essay research related to Psychology.
  • Assess and report student progress effectively, providing clear and constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum alignment and consistency across the IB programme.

Requirements

  • A degree in Psychology, Education, Counselling, or a related field.
  • A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching IB Psychology or a similar curriculum at the upper-secondary level.
  • Demonstrated experience in college counselling, academic advising, or university admissions.
  • In-depth knowledge of global higher education systems (North America, UK, Europe, and Latin America).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to guide students and engage parents effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Fluency in English (native or near-native level); Spanish is an advantage.
