About the role

  • Manage the Career Pathways Program, including the end-to-end delivery of the Internship Program and the Mentorship Program
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for program participants and industry partners throughout the placement process
  • Match graduates with opportunities that align with their skills, career goals, and cultural needs
  • Provide direct career development services to participants, including resume and cover letter support, LinkedIn/portfolio development, mock interviews, job search strategies, and individualized job coaching
  • Support participants with pre-placement onboarding, ongoing mentorship coordination, and check-ins during their placements
  • Collect and analyze participant and employer feedback to improve program outcomes
  • Create, maintain, and strengthen relationships with industry partners to expand placement opportunities
  • Collaborate with employers to ensure culturally responsive workplace practices and supports for Indigenous participants
  • Prepare and manage agreements with industry partners, ensuring that program commitments are met and required documentation is submitted on time
  • Track and document participant progress, placement activities, and program outcomes
  • Help track program spending and support the preparation of reports and updates that share progress with funders, leadership, and industry partners
  • Work closely with the Digital Skills & Career Development team to ensure integration between training programs and career pathways
  • Participate in regular team meetings, share insights, and contribute to broader organizational goals
  • Gather information on student outcomes for both internship program participants as well as the broader FNTC student population

Requirements

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field (e.g., Indigenous studies, education, business administration, or equivalent experience)
  • CCDP or an equivalent career development/counselling credential is preferred but not required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in program management, career development, or a related field
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and organizations with demonstrated cultural competence
  • Familiarity with the BC technology sector and labour market is an asset
